¡Bravo Porfirio!

This is the story of a man…

Porfirio may only be described in an antagonist mode. It’s intense pause, sutil violence, invisible Direction and the impeccable cinematography of a tinted reality. Necessary scenes, precise words along with a brutal force overwhelm and implicate the spectator. Directed by the tireless narrative, metaphor over metaphor I am introduced to Porfirio and in my mind become part of his house, his family, his pain. It is, without a doubt, the style that will define the future projects of this elegant nouvelle Director. His message excludes nothing, social and political aspects are addressed. It is an intimate approach, but does not hold back in describing a wide range of realities.

This film will bring Porfirio more than a smile. I solely expect that it contributes to his dream of flying to Bogotá to sing. It is in this manner and with the rhythm of the “corrido peligroso” that his message will continue to be heard.

¡Bravo Porfirio!
